We rang these guys when we had been promised a mortgage by our Bank who then changed their minds. To be honest we didn’t know whether or not we’d be able to get a mortgage but during the first call with Durham Moneyman we felt they understood our situation much better than the Bank and we had new hope.
There were lots of documents to provide at the outset but we have now completed our remortgage and by consolidating all our debts we are paying out £250pm less than we were before. A really good, responsive service.

Matt was first of all hugely understanding and quite reassuring in what I knew would prove a difficult task! Under 2 years self employment history, trying to gain a second family home without selling the first and possessing a buy to let which also needed remortgaging in the process!! Secondly Matt listened to our preferences and used more of his time to look into other options having already taken his time to find us the best options and lastly I’ve been allowed to message Matt at all hours just basically being an anxious pest!

Wendy has a hugely pleasant manner and makes speaking over the telephone very easy!

Leanne was a very friendly and chatty worker to deal with which made for a more relaxing approach to addressing my concerns.

Also I’d like to add that my husband at times was a little impatient and concerned we weren’t getting everything over to the mortgage underwriters fast enough but then seeing how quickly Halifax approved the mortgage once the application did go in just proved that putting all the leg work in first does work.
